1. DTCM tourism license
Every legitimate operator must hold a current DTCM license. Ask for the license number before booking and verify at dubaitourism.gov.ae.
2. A voucher that names your exact camp
Your voucher should name the specific camp and the vehicle. A voucher that says only "desert safari experience" with no named operator is a red flag.
3. Card payment (never bank transfer to an individual)
Legitimate operators accept card payments via secure link. If asked to pay cash or by personal bank transfer, walk away.
4. A real cancellation policy in writing
Check the free-cancellation deadline before paying. "All sales final" or vague weather-only notes are red flags.
5. Reviews that mention specifics
Look for reviews mentioning the camp name, driver name or specific food details. Generic five-star reviews are easy to fake.
Why book through a curator?
We publish our license number (1176591), the camp name, payment is by secure card link, our cancellation policy is on a dedicated page, and every review is matched to a booking reference. About us.
FAQ
How can I spot a fake desert safari review?
Generic praise with no specific details, reviews clustered in time, and accounts with only one review are warning signs. Cross-check across at least two platforms.
What is the DTCM license and where do I verify it?
The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism issues mandatory tourism activity licenses. Verify at dubaitourism.gov.ae. Our license: 1176591.
What should I do if my safari was not what I was promised?
Document everything and dispute the card payment through your bank. Report unlicensed operators to DTCM. Write a detailed review naming specifics.
