The two best moments
The sunset stop (~5:30–6:00pm): 15–20 minutes on the dunes. The light is extraordinary — low, warm and directional.
The camp arrival at golden hour: lantern-lit with the last of the sun. The Fortress in particular is one of the most photogenic desert settings.
Phone vs camera
Modern flagship phones handle the golden-hour dunes and low-light camp very well. If you have a mirrorless or DSLR, a 24–70mm equivalent and high ISO for the night camp. The dune bashing drive is too rough for anything other than a phone unless you secure your camera.

FAQ
Is there a photographer included in the safari?
Not automatically. A private professional photographer is a bookable add-on for Private, Glamorous and Hideaway levels.
Can I use a drone in the desert?
Drone flying requires a DCAA permit in the UAE and is not permitted in most safari zones without advance authorisation.
What time is the best light?
The 45–60 minutes before sunset (golden hour) on the dunes. Sunrise on an overnight safari is the most dramatic but the coldest.
